An employee was looking at me while I was taking my shower and came when I opened the door to confront him he came inside the shower. I screamed and pushed him out. I went to get the cops, we went in the hostel. I explained the situation then we had to wait on the tourist police. They tried to make me not press charges. Finally told me I was gonna have to go to court and show proof that it happens. When I asked when court was it they said in few days. Of course I could clearly see what they were trying to do. I tried to leave and they pull me, preventing from leaving. I got scared and was finally able to leave. I came back because I forgot my purse with all money and passport and they were going through it. When I confront them they said they were cops and could do whatever they wanted. I'm pretty sure they took money from my purse as well. THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO BE! As I was leaving, the man who came in my shower ( I'm sure he would have raped me if I didn't scream and threw him out) was smiling at me. The fact that cops won't do anything to protect and treated me almost like a criminal when I confronted them about going through my stuff clearly tells you what type of people they are. NOT A SAFE PLACE TO BE!

OIC, an incident that happened this morning was that a policewoman on a mobile tour talked to tourists and me at the Ella station this morning. The tourists informed me that the way he talked to them was inappropriate. The image I had of Sri Lanka was completely destroyed by that police officer. I have nothing more to say than that. It seems that some police officers are on duty with family problems. If they are unhappy, they should investigate it because a wrong image of the police is being built through a tour, which has already happened. I know that the police officer who went on a tour this morning on a red bike had this thought.

This is the most corrupted police station I have ever seen. Victims are victimize again and again due to their Bias, behavior, attitude and unprofessional investigation. If you need eqaul opportunity and justice, go with your attorney- at- Law. Innocent Shalika was not allowed to lodge a complain today.
